Who we are
Book Clubbing runs the club board you're browsing. For questions about your data, reach us at the contact listed on the site — we answer personally.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, and password when you sign in, so your pitches, votes, and club memberships stick to you.
- Your club activity: the clubs you join, books you pitch, votes you cast, and dates you pick — that's the whole point of the site.
- Usage analytics — only if you opt in: which pages get visited and which buttons get tapped, collected through PostHog and tied to your account so we can make better recommendations.
Why we collect it
To run the clubs (your pitches and votes need to count), to keep your account working, and — with your consent — to improve the site and serve you more relevant clubs and recommendations. The legal basis for analytics is your consent; for account data, it's providing the service you signed up for.
What we never do
- Sell your data or share it with advertisers.
- Track you before you've said yes to analytics.
- Send you marketing email — if we ever do, every message will carry an unsubscribe link.
Your choices
Analytics is strictly opt-in. Accept or decline from the banner, or change your mind any time via Analytics settings in the footer — declining switches collection off immediately. You can also delete your pitch or votes yourself, leave a club any time, and ask us to remove your account and its data whenever you like.
How long we keep things
Your account and club activity stay while your account does. Analytics events are kept by PostHog per their standard retention, and stop the moment you withdraw consent.
